Project Instructions

To begin, pick out 8 scrapbook pages to be used for the hat.  For the banner, pick a scaly pattern that provies a natural pattern, as well as adds depth and dimension to the whole look.

Cut out the pieces of your template, including the insides of the letters, number, and the # symbol.

Place each piece of your template face up on, each of a different print. Trace and cut out all 5 pieces and set aside.

You can make each piece double-sided if you wish. Match up fronts and backs of all letters, number and symbol, if you do.

Adhere the # and 1 to the top of the first D as shown. Set aside.

Cut out a banner for the front of the crown, approximately 9"x1 ¾". Cut out letters in your desired font and size or use alphabet stickers. Attach them to the front of the banner and set aside. 

Cut 2 2"x12" strips of chipboard. Set aside.

Take your last piece of cardstock and cut out 5 pieces: 3 strips that measure 2"x12" (1 will be used for patching) and 2 that measure 3"x12". Take the 3"x12" printed cardstock strips and score them ½" on each side length so they fold inward, leaving a 2" section in the middle. Take these 2 pieces and glue them onto the outsides of your two chipboard strips

Use 2 of the 2"x12" strips of paper to cover the inside of the chipboard.

To attach the hat, put 3 eyelets on each side of the open end of the head piece (6 total). Tie together with ribbon or rope. Attach the letters to the inside of the hat and the banner to the outside.
