Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome i decided that I wanting to try knitting i already know how to crochet and I have always used the Boye hook so I wanted to try the Boye needles an they work fantastic I learned how to knit the 3 most basic stitches within 30 minutes. These needles have really nice colors and slide though my yard really nicely and smoothly. Would reccomend for anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No disappointment! I've tried using knitting needles made of plastic, bamboo, and metal, and I've never found any that worked as well as metal needles. They work smoothly and seem to be of such good quality that they'll last forever. I'm sure that I've had this size needle before, but I've either lost or misplaced them. I'll try to hang on to these.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Longing for selection varieties of old... When I began knitting, decades ago, Boye was the only brand readily available in these parts. Years ago I switched to another brand known for it's soft pink, blue and green colors simply due to their offering of 10" needles for my many smallish projects. Since then Michael's has quit carrying that brand. When I needed to replace a pair recently I liked the magenta color and I do prefer aluminum needles. Most endearment wore off in the initial rows of my next project, and I was reminded why I made the switch back when; these lack the buttery smoothness of working the yarn that I had come to take for granted w/my last pair of SB's. I literally felt blisters beginning and had to increase frequency of breaks, extending completion time. And that lovely magenta was literally ground off the tips during the ordeal. I don't know what the magical difference is, but it is like night and day and the difficulty of working with these isn't worth the minimal difference in cost, so I will be retiring these to save myself. Note:Dug out a pair of preferred brand to test if I was romanticizing lost pair, but turns out I wasn't imagining anything' there IS a very real difference! No local retailer, it seems, carries what I need, forcing me to order online, which isn't my preference. On the other hand it has shown me a new selection of tecnologically improved needles. Wish Michael's still carried the other, and perhaps some of these newer types. Why so much bamboo, et al, that I'll never buy? (sigh) I think it's a missed opportunity to get me in store, since I nearly always buy something else besides what I came for, and they sell yarn online too, y'know? However, if this is all part of some secret plan masterminded by my husband to curtail my visits:it may be working...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great needles I love these metal knitting needles. I was using a plastic pair because I just didn't have a metal set in the size I needed. Once I started using these needles my project went much faster.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, but slippery When i first began knitting, i bought these, and i must say they work quite well but it was difficult to keep stitches on the needles. overall a good investment but better for someone who wants to go from beginner to an intermediate level. takes a few days to get used to, but makes the process a tad bit quicker. also recomend using ticker yarn on first tries.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from the dye is coming off on my project. I am knitting a sweater and the dye from the size 10.5 mm blue needles that I am using is coming off not only on my hands but also my sweater. There is no customer service # and The Michael's store where I purchased them is 1 1/2 hrs away.
