Crystal Cruise Necklace

  • Glass Sliders Rectangle, 10x20mm – Silver-plated (2)

  • Glass Rondelle Mix, 9x12mm – Ocean (7)

  • Hemp Cord – Light Blue (300")

Project Instructions

Step 1 Cut three strands of 100" hemp cording. Coat the cording with beeswax.

Step 2 Bring the three strands together and form a simple knot 1½" from the end of strand. String aqua lentil and form a simple knot.

Step 3 Place the crystal ends of strands underneath the clip at the top of clipboard. Secure the two left strands at the bottom of the clipboard with a document clip.

Step 4 Start on the right hand side. Loop the right cording over and under the two left cords. Pass right cord up through loop on right hand side and pull the end firmly to secure knot.

Step 5 Repeat knotting technique from Step 4 until you reach a length of 4" twist. Remove necklace from board, bring strands together, string one aqua rondelle and form a simple knot.

Step 6 Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until you reach a length of 1¾" twist.

Step 7 Remove necklace from board, bring strands together and form a simple knot. String rectangle slider, form a simple knot, add aqua rondelle, form a simple knot, square slider, form a simple knot, aqua rondelle, form a simple knot, square slider, form a simple knot, aqua rondelle, form a simple knot, rectangle slider, form a simple knot, aqua rondelle and form a simple knot.

Step 8 Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until you reach a length of 1¾" twist.

Step 9 Remove necklace from board, bring strands together and form a simple knot. String aqua and form a simple knot.

Step 10 Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you reach a length of 5½" twist.

Step 11 Remove necklace from the board. Form a loop with 1½" end of twist at the 4" mark. Wrap strands around and form a double knot. Repeat one time on opposite side of knot. Trim cord ends and dab with super glue.

Tips

If you cannot pass all three cords through the slider, pass two cords. Bring them together and form a simple knot. The third cord will be hidden in the back of the slider.
