Aleene's Textured Glue Hearts on Frame

Creating the look of embossing with glue is a long-time favorite for Aleene's fans. With this technique, you apply glue directly from the bottle to achieve a raised textured effect.

Material List

  • Wood Frame
  • Cardboard, Thin
  • Pencil
  • Spray Paint, Flat and Matte – White
  • Cotton Swab
  • Craft Chalks
  • Scissors
  • Optional: Alcohol and Paper Towel

Project Instructions

Determine desired heart and free draw a pattern and cut from thin cardboard.

Place pattern on frame and use pencil to lightly trace around pattern.

Using pattern line as guide, apply Aleene's® Original Tacky Glue® in heart shape.

Fill inside heart with random pattern of glue. Do not fill completely with glue.

Let dry overnight until glue is clear.

Spray entire surface of frame with flat white spray paint. Let dry.

Pick up chalk color with cotton swab. Gently rub over raised heart surface applying colors where desired.

Use new cotton swab when changing colors of chalk. Continue applying chalk over all raised heart surfaces. Blow away excess chalk. Remove any excess chalk from around heart designs with alcohol applied on paper towel.
