Material List

  • Cricut Expression® Personal Electronic Cutter with Plantin SchoolBook cartridge
  • Cricut® Winter Frolic cartridge
  • Cardstock: red, blue, dark blue, yellow, white, brown, light brown, green, beige, skin color, straw color, black, pink
  • Ink Pad, brown
  • Dauber
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Scissors
  • Foam Squares
  • Adhesive
 

Project Instructions

Use one 12" x 12" sheet of red cardstock as layout base. Cut one 11 ½" x 11 ½" block of blue cardstock. Adhere to layout base. Cut one 5 ¼" x 7 ¼" block of red cardstock. Cut one 5" x 7" block of white cardstock. Layer and adhere to layout as shown.

Cut straw. Using Plantin SchoolBook cartridge and straw colored cardstock, press Shift and cut three 1" Grass. Ink edges. Adhere to bottom of layout, trimming as needed.

Cut Away in a Manger. Using Winter Frolic cartridge and red cardstock, select Phrase feature and cut one 3 ½" Baby Jesus. Repeat cut using white cardstock and Phrase Shadow feature. Using yellow cardstock, select Phrase feature, press Shift, and cut one 3 ½" Baby Jesus. Ink edges. Layer together. Adhere to layout as shown using foam squares.

Cut Joseph. Using black cardstock, select Flip function and cut one 4" Shephard. Repeat cut using light brown cardstock and Layer feature. Repeat cut using beige and straw colored cardstock. Using skin colored cardstock, select Flip function, press Shift, and cut one 4" Shephard. Repeat cut using brown cardstock. Repeat cut using green cardstock and Layer feature. Ink edges. Layer together. Adhere to layout as shown using foam squares.

Cut Mary. Using black cardstock, cut one 3 ¼" Mary. Repeat cut using dark blue cardstock and Layer feature. Repeat cut using white cardstock. Using skin colored cardstock, press Shift and cut one 3 ¼" Mary. Repeat cut using brown cardstock and Layer feature. Repeat cut using pink cardstock. Ink edges. Layer and adhere to layout as shown.

Cut baby Jesus. Using brown cardstock, cut one 3 ¼" Baby Jesus. Repeat cut using brown cardstock and Layer feature. Using skin colored cardstock, press Shift and cut one 3 ¼" Baby Jesus. Repeat cut using white cardstock. Repeat cut using yellow cardstock and Layer feature. Ink edges. Layer and adhere to layout as shown using adhesive and foam squares.
