Project Instructions
Bake chocolate cupcakes in silver foil cupcake liners.
Once they are cool, use a serrated knife to slide the top off, making them level.
Tint a small amount of white icing with a drop of black gel food coloring.
Mix thoroughly to create a silver/gray color.
Fill a pastry bag with a #3 or #4 tip with silver icing.
Pipe 5 horizontal lines across the top of each cupcake to look like a grill.
Using assorted candies, create food for the mini grills. For the steak/pork shop candies, use cream-filled caramel candy and reshape using your fingers. For kabobs, use a toothpick as a skewer.
Cut candies into small pieces to look like veggies. Slide onto toothpicks, alternating with chunks of “meat” (pieces of caramel).
Use red candies for hotdogs.
Use yellow and green candies for corn on the cob.
Use a small green gumdrop for the corn husks. Roll the gumdrop in sugar using a rolling pin to flatten. Roll around a piece of yellow candy.
Grill marks can be made using Duff’s Edible Markers.
