Project Instructions

Cut out desired shape from cardboard box. Peel outside skin from each shape to reveal the corrugated inner surface. This layer will not peel off cleanly, and this will give a “grunge” effect.

Mix a small amount of white acrylic paint with one tablespoon of water, as a watery consistency works best. Lightly paint each banner piece with a dry foam brush to create a whitewashed look.

Apply craft glue to banner edges and glitter to all edges of each banner piece.

Choose your four favorite designs from me & my BIG ideas® Baby Girl paper pad. Trace the letters “B-A-B-Y” from the Tim Holtz® grunge board alphabet onto back side of paper. Cut each one out.

Adhere paper letters atop grunge board letters, ink edges of all letters and set aside.

Adhere lace trim to top of each banner piece.

Pop Dot™ each letter to banner pieces. At times letters may overlap lace trim.

Select three additional coordinated paper designs from the paper pad. Cut four large, medium and small circles starting with largest at approximately 3". These should be drawn freehand as they should not be perfect.

Ink and distress edges of all circles. Lightly spray water on each circle and crinkle by hand to distress each.

Using green paper from paper pad, draw freehand eight leaves approximately 1"x3" long. Fold each leaf in half vertically; ink the fold, then crinkle as in step above.

Create each flower by mixing and layering the styles and sizes of each flower. Once you create the look you want, starting with the largest circle, pinch and gather at the center of each circle; adhere glue dot to the center and repeat with the medium circle and then the small adhering to each other.

Die-cut four buttons using excess chipboard packaging and coordinating paper from paper pad. Adhere paper buttons to chipboard buttons, ink button edges, tie coordinating ribbon through each button and adhere to center of each flower.

Tuck and adhere two leaves under each flower, insuring that leaves are in different spots on each flower.

Adhere flower to each letter again in different locations on each letter.

Attach Soft Spoken™ and chipboard embellishments as shown.

Tie clear crystals to each of four pieces of thin fishing line. Punch small hole at the bottom of each banner and tie fishing line onto banner, aligning desired length of each crystal.

Punch a hole at right and left top corners of each banner piece and string banner together using pink tulle.

Complete banner by tying a piece of tulle at each end.
