Project Instructions

Bake cupcakes using your favorite cake flavor. After cupcakes are cool, frost half with white icing, then immediately sprinkle with crushed graham crackers (this will serve as the sand).

Frost the other half with white icing that has had a couple of light blue gel food coloring added to it.

Make the waves by coloring a small amount of icing a darker shade of blue and pipe on with a pastry bag. Use a #3 tip.

To make decorations, use fondant. Roll out and shape assorted colors to create the towel with stripes and flip flops.

Pipe on the straps with the darker blue icing.

To make the beach ball, roll two colors of fondant together into a ball. Make a beach bucket using a red candy. Add a paper drink umbrella to finish.
