Project Instructions

Using two eye pins per section, make seven 3" lengths of lampwork bead sections using as many beads, bead caps, and spacer beads as needed.  Connect the sections to make a 3" section. Open the eye pin, using jewelry pliers.  Place the top of one section through the eye pin.  Close securely with jewelry pliers. Repeat with the remaining lampwork bead sections. You should have six more sections.

Cut an 18" section of Bead Landing chain. Find the center of the chain.  Open a jump ring with jewelry pliers. Place the jump ring at the center of the chain and attach the group of lampwork beads that you would like as the center section of the necklace. Close the jump ring with jewelry pliers.

Space the remaining six sections on either side of the center section, connecting in the same manner as the first.

Hang the necklace on a neck form. Take the second length of chain and find the center.  Connect the center of the chain to the bottom of the center lampwork bead section. Open the eye pin and place it around the center link in the chain. Close the eye pin with round nose pliers.

Keep the necklace hanging on the neck form and attach the chain to the bottom of the remaining lampwork sections.

Place a jump ring on the bail of the pendant. Attach a second jump ring. Before closing the jump ring attach it to the bottom of the center section of lampwork beads.

Place a 4mm glass bead on a head pin. Using jewelry pliers, fold the pin to a 90 degree angle. Trim the pin ¼" from the bead. Using round nose pliers, begin rolling the wire to form a loop. Before closing the loop place it around one of the jump rings above the pendant. Repeat four more times.

Place one 2mm silver spacer bead and one lampwork bead onto a head pin. Bend the wire at 90 degrees with jewelry pliers. Trim the wire to ¼". Using round nose pliers, begin rolling the wire to form a loop. Before closing the loop, place it around the link in the chain that falls under each 3" section. Repeat five more times.

Bring the bottom chain ends to meet the top chain ends, adjusting the lengths as needed. Cut the excess chain with jewelry cutters.

Open a jump ring and place the two ends of one side of the necklace onto the jump ring.

Open a jump ring and place the remaining two ends onto the jump ring. Before closing the jump ring place the lobster claw closure onto the jump ring. Close the jump ring with jewelry pliers.
