Project Instructions

NOTE: Wire-wrapping to connect two wires: Take a thin gauge wire (26 gauge works nicely) and cut a piece of wire to about 18" in length. Begin by wrapping one end tightly around both pieces of wire. Continue by taking the long “working end” of wire and wrap three full rotations on your first wire, then jump to your second wire and make another three full rotations. Keep going back and forth between your first and second wires, making one to two full rotations on each wire with each pass until your wire is held firmly in place. Cut off the excess wire with your side cutter.

Step 1 Cut the following wires into the following lengths, as noted below:

1 piece of 4½" silver 16 ga. wire

1 piece of 4¾" copper 16 ga. wire

2 pieces of 4" copper 16 ga. wire

3 pieces of 18" brass 26 ga. wire

1 piece of 24" brass 26 ga. wire

2 pieces of 2" brass 26 ga. wires

Step 2 Take all of your 16 ga. wires (Step 1) and flatten about ¼-inch on both ends of each wire by hammering them with the ball-peen hammer on your mini anvil.

Step 3 Take your flattened copper 4¾" wire and one 4" copper wire, overlap both wires to meet at about 1" mark from top end to form the letter “V.” Wire-wrap the two perpendicular wires in place with your first 18" 26 ga. wire.

Step 4 Take your second 4" copper wire and repeat process from Step 3. This time the letter “V” should be facing the opposite side out.

Step 5 Form a full triangle shape with your two 4-inch wires from Steps 3 and 4 by overlapping the bottom ends to meet at the ½" mark, then wire wrap on mark to secure with your third 18" wire. This will now be called “triangle.”
