Project Instructions

Punch a small hole in the center of one of the Bead Landing™ Found Objects gears.

Step 2 Place an eye pin through a metal flower and through the center hole in the gear.

Bend the pin to form a right angle. Cut the pin approximately ¼" beyond the bead. Use the round end of your pliers to grasp the end of the pin and curve the pin by using a rolling motion to fold it over a single round prong. You may need to release the pin and continue the rolling motion again.

Step 3 Before closing the loop add three lengths of chain to the loop: 1½", 2" and 2½".

Step 4 Punch a hole in the center of the second metal gear.

Step 5 Layer two clock hands and a clock face onto an eye pin and place all through the hole in the metal gear. Bend the pin to form a right angle. Cut the pin approximately ¼" beyond the bead. Use the round end of your pliers to grasp the end of the pin and curve the pin by using a rolling motion to fold it over a single round prong.

Step 6 Attach the two gears together using wire. Wrap the wire through the open areas of the gears, overlapping the gears.

Step 7 Punch a small hole in the gear at the top side. Place a jump ring through the hole and close with bent nose pliers.

Step 8 Working the right side of the necklace thread a faceted bead onto an eye pin. Bend the pin to form a right angle. Cut the pin approximately ¼" beyond the bead. Use the round end of your pliers to grasp the end of the pin and curve the pin by using a rolling motion to fold it over a single round prong. Before closing the loop, add the loop from the next beaded eye pin.

Step 9 Place a jump ring through each hole on the end of a keyhole charm.

Step 10 Connect the beaded head pins and charms together to form the desired length.

Step 11 Attach a length of chain at the connection point on the gear. Wrap the chain around the beads and charm length. Attach with jump rings where necessary to hold in place.

Step 12 Add charms to this length for fullness and interest.

Step 13 Repeat Steps, 8-12 for the opposite side of the necklace.

Step 14 Add a variety of charms and beaded head pins to the three short lengths of chain that hang from the center point on the back of the gear. Add enough charms and beads for fullness and interest.

Step 15 Add a lobster claw and large jump ring for the closure and the center point at the back of the necklace.
