Create Beautiful Writing

Calligraphy , the art of beautiful writing , is as old as writing itself.  Beautiful writing endures in the skilled hands of craft persons who letter a wide range of materials from books to family trees.  It also enjoys renewed popularity as a means of artistic personal expression.

The Sheaffer® Script

The Sheaffer® Script has been designed exclusively for Sheaffer® Calligraphers.  It is a modern and open style of handwriting. Try these letters in a wide range of colors and sizes.

For more detailed instruction on how to do Calligraphy, see the step-by-step Calligraphy Guide enclosed in the Sheaffer® Classic Calligraphy Kit available at Michaels stores.  This kit can be used for informal, relaxed invitations or when designing posters and awards for your school or just writing for your friends.

The Chancery Italic Hand

From the Florentine school, Italic letters are basically elliptical or slanted rather than round and vertical to the line of writing, allowing a freer, more flowing style.

The Uncial Hand

The uncial alphabet is also known as a unifon or majuscule alphabet, having no distinct upper and lower case but on uniformly-sized set of characters.

Uncial letters should be round and generous, but close together and "upright" in character.
