Bee Frame

- Sculpey III- White, Hot Pink, Yellow, Atomic Orange, Spring Lilac, Black and Emerald
- Oval Wooden Frame
- Acrylic Paint- Light Green, White
- Paintbrush

- Clay-Only Plastic Knife
- Clay-Only Rolling Pin

- Disposable Foil or Wax Paper
Project Instructions
Step: 1
Start with clean hands and work area. Good working surfaces include a glass or metal surface, disposable foil or wax paper.
Step: 2
Knead each clay bar until soft and smooth.
Step: 3
Paint frame light green and let dry. Dip handle end of paintbrush into white paint and dot frame; let dry. Use marker to draw squiggly line/dot border around both edges of frame.
Step: 4
Roll 2 Yellow teardrop for bees and press flat. Roll 2 Black balls for heads and press to rounded ends of bodies. Roll remaining Black clay 1/8" thick and cut strips for bees stripes. Press to bodies and trim excess.
Step: 5
Roll 4 White teardrops and press flat for bee wings. Press 1 wing to front and back of each bee. Roll 2 small White balls for eyes and 2 smaller Atomic Orange balls for pupils. Press eyes to faces. Use toothpick to poke hole in each eye and to make mouths.
Step: 6
For each flower, roll 3 small Spring Lilac balls or 4 medium Hot Pink balls. Press balls flat and push together to make flower shapes. Roll small Yellow ball and press to center of each flower. Use toothpick to poke holes in each flower center and to make lines in each petal around center.
Step: 7
Roll 1 small Emerald teardrop for each purple flower and 3 slightly larger Emerald teardrops for each pink flower. Press teardrops flat for leaves and use toothpick to press line down center of each leaf. Press leaves to bottom of flowers, between petals.
Step: 8
Bake all pieces at 275° F for 15 minutes per 6mm (1/4") of thickness. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT exceed the recommended temperature or baking time. Children using clay should be supervised at all times. All baking should be done by an adult.
Step: 9
After baking, allow to cool. Glue clay pieces to frame as shown.
