Block Printing Owl Frame
Material List
- Acrylic Paint: Turquoise, Yellow, Purple, Brown, Green
- Tracing Paper
- Pencil
- Sticky Back Fun Foam (color not important)
- Wood Block, Acrylic Block or thick cardboard for backer
- Scissors
- Foam Brush
Project Instructions
Paint Frame with Turquoise Paint. Allow to dry.
Using Tracing Paper, draw an Owl, a Leaf, a Tree Branch, a Star and a Moon with a pencil making a dark line.
Turn tracing paper over and “rub” with your finger onto Sticky Back Fun Foam. This will transfer the image from the tracing paper to the foam.
Using a slightly dull pencil and medium pressure, go back over the foam and indent the drawing lines into the foam by re-sketching over drawing lines. Deepen any details that you want to show up (ex: swirls on owl wing or vanes in leaf).
Cut out owl, leaf, branch, star and moon shapes from foam, peel off sticky back and adhere to block to create a stamp.
Using Foam brush, coat Fun Foam stamp with acrylic paint.
Press stamps onto frame to create images. Allow to dry.
