Material List

  • Tracing Paper
  • Pencil
  • Sticky Back Fun Foam (color not important)
  • Wood Block, Acrylic Block or thick cardboard for backer
  • Scissors
  • Acrylic Paint (your choice of colors) and Fabric Medium to mix OR Fabric Paint
  • Foam Brush

Project Instructions

Draw image on tracing paper with pencil. Make sure your lines are fairly dark.

Turn tracing paper over and “rub” with your finger onto Sticky Back Fun Foam. This will transfer the image from the tracing paper to the foam.

Using a slightly dull pencil and medium pressure, go back over the foam and indent the drawing lines into the foam by re-sketching over drawing lines.

Cut foam to size you want, peel off sticky back and adhere to block to create a stamp.

Using Foam brush, coat Fun Foam stamp with acrylic paint mixed with a fabric medium OR fabric paint.

If you want image to come out “dirty”, slightly rub paint onto the backer block and make sure to press these edges onto the fabric as well as the center stamp.

Press onto fabric. Allow to dry.

Plan a bit before beginning. You will need to make sure your image will turn out the way you want, so if you want something to face left, you need to draw it facing right. Also – words will be backwards when block printing!
