Project Instructions
For Orange Cupcakes with Green Beetle:
Bake and cool cupcakes according to recipe.
Prepare buttercream icing according to package directions; tint portions orange, black, green and blue
Ice cupcake smooth with spatula and orange icing.
Use tip 10 and green icing to pipe bug’s body; smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch.
Use sharp knife to imprint marks on body.
Use tip 6 and blue icing to pipe bug’s head; smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch.
Use tip 3 and brown icing to pipe legs.
Use tip 2 and black icing to pipe dot eyes.
*Combine Leaf Green and Lemon Yellow icing colors for green shown.
For Orange Cupcakes with Black Spider:
Bake and cool cupcakes according to recipe.
Prepare buttercream icing according to package directions; tint portions orange, black and green
Ice cupcake smooth with spatula and orange icing.
Use tip 10 and black icing to pipe bug’s body; smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch.
Use tip 4 and black icing to pipe bug’s head; smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch.
Use tip 13 and black icing to pipe shells for legs.
Use tip 2 and green icing to pipe dot eyes.
