Project Instructions

Step: 1

Cut the bee’s body using one foam board 25-inches long and 20-inches wide.

Step: 2

Cover the board with yellow felt.

Step: 3

Cut seven 12-inch long strips of black felt and place on the yellow bee’s body 2-inches apart.

Step: 4

Glue strips in place.

Step: 5

Fold edges to the back of the body and glue. Use one strip for the bow tie and glue in place. Cover the back of the bee’s body with yellow felt. Place the black pipe cleaner between the yellow felt on the backside and the front of the bee’s body. Using the second foam board, cut the wings for the bee. Cover sides with black felt. Attach the VELCRO brand fasteners to from the shoulders.

Step: 6

Beanie hat:
Cut the black squares in the shape of pie slices. The size of slice determines the size of the beanie. Sew together by putting points of slices together, sewing down the wide part of the slice. Attach two of the black pipe cleaners with the pom-poms attached to the ends to the felt cap for antennas. Secure antennae with hot glue on the inside of the cap.
