**Note**: Instructions below fit a Composition Book that is 9 3/4" x 7 1/2"
Cut a rectangle of canvas approximately 24"x18". This is bigger than you will ultimately need, but after design is painted, you will be able to better choose the area you want to feature.
Using the soft fabric paints, paint your background colors onto the canvas.
Once the background is complete, use stencils and apply black or white paint with a sponge dauber, sponge or foam brush to create designs.
Cut the canvas down to 19¼"x13¾" around the desired portion for the cover. Flip the canvas over so the wrong side is up. Lay the composition book centered on the canvas. Make sure the front cover is where you want it. Fold over the top, bottom and sides around the book.
Iron the canvas into place so it holds its shape.
Slide out the book. Using Terrifically Tacky Tape®, adhere the top and bottom flaps to the side flaps creating the pouch you will slide the book back into. Trim the top and bottom flap at a 45° angle to create a pleasing finished edge. Do this for both the front and back cover.
Cut 2 pieces of felt 6"x 9¼". Using Terrifically Tacky Tape® on 3 edges, adhere the felt to the inside front and inside back covers to complete the pouch that you will slide the book covers into.
Slide the book into the cover and stamp any inspirational words desired on the cover using Alpha stamps and black ink.
Cut a piece of ribbon approx 30" long. Adhere along the front and back covers (front side, across the middle) using Terrifically Tacky Tape®, leaving the ends to tie the book together.
Using an old blouse, cut 6-8 concentric circles. Adding more circles using tulle will add a little more fluff to the flower. Layer the circles and add the button(s) to the center and stitch together.
Hot glue the flower into place on the cover.
