Using US H-8 (5mm) hook, 6 mesh = 4 1/4”/11cm; 7 rows = 3 3/4”/9.5cm

Row 1 (RS): Dc in 5th ch from hook (skipped chs count as first dc), dc in each remaining ch across, turn—17 closed mesh (52 dc).
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), dc in next 3 dc, [ch 2, sk next 2 dc, dc in next dc] 15 times, dc in next 2 dc, dc in top of turning ch, turn—2 closed mesh and 15 open mesh (22 dc and 15 ch-2 sps).
Row 3: Ch 3, dc in next 3 dc; ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next ch-2 sp, dc in next dc, ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp, dc in next dc, *[2 dc in next ch-2 sp, dc in next dc] 3 times, ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next ch-2 sp, dc in next dc, ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp, dc in next dc; rep from * once, dc in next 2 dc, dc in top of turning ch, turn—11 closed mesh and 6 open mesh.
