Abbreviations List:
CH = Chain
SC = Single Crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet
Sl st = Slip Stitch
St(s) = Stitch(es)

Special Stitch:

2HDCtog = Yarn over, insert hook in next st, yarn over, pull through (there should be 3 loops on hook). Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch , yarn over, pull through (there should be 5 loops on hook). Yarn over and pull through all 5 loops.

Sole

Ch 11.
Round 1: HDC in third ch from hook. 7 HDC, 6 HDC in last ch. Work down opposite side: 7 HDC, 5 HDC in last ch. Join with sl st in first HDC.
Round 2: Ch 1. 8 HDC, then work 2HDC in next 5 sts, 8 HDC, then work 2 HDC in next 5 sts. Join with sl st.
Round 3: Ch 1. 8 HDC. Work 2HDC in next st and 1 in next; repeat 5 times. 8 HDC. Work 2HDC in next st and 1 in next; repeat 5 times. Join with sl st.
Round 4: Ch 1, turn. 1 HDC in each stitch, back loops only. 46 HDCs.

Around Foot
Work in both loops.
Round 1: Ch 1. 12 HDC, 2HDCtog, 7 HDC, 2HDCtog, 10 HDC, 2HDCtog, 7 HDC, 2HDCtog, 2 HDC. Sl st.
Round 2: Ch 1. 15 HDC, 2HDCtog, 6 HDC, 2HDCtog, 9 HDC, 2HDCtog, 6 HDC, 2HDCtog, 2 HDC. Sl st.
Fasten off.

Top of Loafer

Find the center st on the toe. Count four to the right, when looking at the loafer. Tie on yarn.
Work in Rows.
Row 1: Ch1. In back loop only, 7 HDC across.
Rows 2-4: Ch 1 and turn. Working in both loops 7 HDC across.
Note: Rows 1 – 4 will only be attached to loafer at this point at Row 1. Rows 2-4 with be working upward, without attaching.
Fasten off.

Assembly
Step 1 Using same color yarn and a yarn needle, sew the top of the loafer to the sides. Leave Row 4 unattached, as shown.
Step 2 Attach Chocolate, or contrasting color of choice, to the center of the heel and SC in each st around for border.
Step 3 Repeat for second loafer.
