Project Instructions
Cut cereal box down to 10-inches x 7-inches (for a 5-inch x 7-inch journal).
Cut desired amount of cardstock and newspaper pages to 9 7/8-inches x 6 7/8-inches. Note: By deducting 1/8-inch you will make sure the paper folds nicely into the inside of the journal.
Round corners of cover and papers with scissors.
Score cereal box cover down center with plastic knife. Fold cereal box cover in half until it folds crisply.
Punch a hole along the fold ½-inch from the top and ½-inch from the bottom. Repeat same process with papers.
Place papers on top of cover with holes lined up. Thread hemp cord through the holes and tightly tie a knot inside of journal. Cut off any excess string.
Embellish cover with cut shapes from newspaper and stickers as desired.
Tips
Two journals can be made out of every cereal box.
Craft Notes
Adult supervision is required at all times.
