Sand rough edges of birdhouse. Wipe away dust with soft cloth.
Use sponge brush to basecoat roof with Black, sides of house with Crocus Yellow, rim around roof and above base of house with Black and White checks and base of birdhouse with Opaque Red. To basecoat, use sponge brush to apply a total opaque (solid) coverage to desired surface. Two thin coats are preferable to one heavy coat.
Apply squares around hole in birdhouse with Black.
Apply Opaque Red to cherry and Leaf Green to stems and leaves on stamp. Stamp cherries around birdhouse as shown. Use sponge brush to apply paint directly onto stamp with a light pouncing motion. Be sure to completely cover raised design. Use even pressure when applying stamp to surface; do not rock. Lift straight up. Reapply paint between each stamping.
Spatter birdhouse as follows: Dilute Black with water until consistency of ink. Dip bristles of old toothbrush in paint, hold brush a few inches above birdhouse and run thumb or finger through bristles. Be sure not to over-spatter.
Apply a coat of varnish.
