INSTRUCTIONS

Note: To join a new color, work to last 2 loops on hook. Pick up a new color and draw through 2 loops on hook.

Make 22 Motifs I using A as Color 1, B as Color 2, D as Color 3, C as Color 4.

Make 17 Motifs II using B as Color 1, C as Color 2, D as Color 3, A as Color 4.

Make 17 Motifs III using C as Color 1, D as Color 2, A as Color 3, B as Color 4.

Make 16 Motifs IV using D as Color 1, C as Color 2, B as Color 3, A as Color 4.

Make 5 Half Motifs I using A as Color 1, B as Color 2, D as Color 3, C as Color 4.

Make 4 Half Motifs II using B as Color 1, C as Color 2, D as Color 3, A as Color 4.

Make 4 Half Motifs III using C as Color 1, D as Color 2, A as Color 3, B as Color 4.

Make 6 Half Motifs IV using D as Color 1, C as Color 2, B as Color 3, A as Color 4.

Motif

With Color 1, ch 4. Join with sl st to first ch to form ring.

1st rnd: Ch 2 (does not count as st). 12 hdc in ring. Join Color 2 with sl st to first hdc.

2nd rnd: With Color 2, ch 2. Yoh and draw up a loop. Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice in same sp as sl st. Yoh and draw through all loops on hook – beg cluster made. Ch 1. *(Yoh and draw up a loop. Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook) 3 times in next st. Yoh and draw through all loops on hook – cluster made. Ch 1. Rep from * around. Join Color 3 with sl st to top of beg cluster.

3rd rnd: With Color 3, sl st in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1. 3 sc in same sp. Ch 1. *3 sc in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to top of first st. Fasten off.

4th rnd: Join Color 4 with sl st to any ch-1 sp. Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as last sl st. *Ch 3. Miss next 3 sc. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from * to last 3 sc. Ch 3. Miss last 3 sc. Join D with sl st to first sc.

5th row: With D, sl st in next ch-3 sp. Ch 1. 4 sc in same sp as sl st. *Miss next sc and ch-3 sp. [(1 tr. Ch 2. 1 dc. Ch 2) twice. 1 tr] in next sc. Miss next ch-3 sp and sc.** 4 sc in next ch-3 sp. Rep from * twice more, then from * to ** once. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

Half Motif

With Color 1, ch 3.

1st rnd: 5 hdc in 3rd ch from hook. Join Color 2. Turn. 6 hdc.

2nd rnd: With Color 2, ch 2. Beg cluster in first hdc. Ch 1. *Cluster in next hdc. Ch 1. Rep from * 4 times more. Join Color 3. Turn.

3rd rnd: With Color 3, ch 1. 1 sc in first cluster. *3 sc in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1. Rep from * 3 times more. 3 sc in next ch-1 sp. 1 sc in last cluster. Join Color 4. Turn.

4th rnd: With Color 4, ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Ch 3. Miss next 3 sc. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from * 3 times more. Ch 3. Miss next 3 sc. 1 sc in last sc. Join D. Turn.

5th row: With D, ch 6 (counts as tr and ch 2). (1 dc. Ch 2. 1 tr) in first sc. Miss next ch-3 sp and sc. 4 sc in next ch-3 sp. Miss next sc. [(1 tr. Ch 2. 1 dc. Ch 2) twice. 1 tr] in next ch-3 sp. Finishing

Sew Motifs tog as shown in diagram.

Edging: Join D with sl st to right corner tr of motif. Ch 1. 2 sc in same sp as sl st. *2 sc in next ch-2 sp. 1 sc in next dc. 2 sc in next ch-2 sp. 1 sc in next tr. 1 sc in each of next 4 sc. 1 sc in next tr. 2 sc in next ch-2 sp. 1 sc in next dc. 2 sc in next ch-2 sp. 3 sc in next tr. 20 sc across side of each half motif to next corner motif. 3 sc in next tr. Rep from * around, working 1 sc in first tr. Join A with sl st to first sc.

2nd rnd: With A, ch 4 (counts as dc and ch 1). (1 dc. Ch 1) twice in same sp as sl st. *Miss next sc. 1 dc in next sc. Ch 1. Rep from * to next corner sc. (1 dc. Ch 1) 3 times in corner sc.** Rep from * to ** around, ending with (1 dc. Ch 1) twice in first sc. Join with sl st to 3rd ch of ch 4. Fasten off.

3rd rnd: Join D with sl st to any dc. Ch 4. Cluster in same sp as last sl st * Miss next (ch, dc, ch). Sl st in next dc. Ch 4. Cluster. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to 1st ch of ch 4. Fasten off.
