Project Instructions

Do not use unbaked clay on unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Good working surfaces include the Sculpey® Clay Mat, a glass or metal surface, disposable foil or wax paper. Knead clay until soft and smooth. Bake on an oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275 °F for 30 minutes per ¼" thickness. Do not use microwave oven. Do not exceed baking temperature or recommended making time. All baking should be completed by an adult. Wash hands after use.

To create clay sentiments

Condition Candy Pink clay and roll in a 1/16" thick flat sheet.

Using the Alphabet Stamper, stamp the words MERCI and AMOUR directly into the Candy Pink sheet of clay. Use even pressure when stamping – no stamp pad ink needed. Individually stamp the letter PARIS leaving room around them for trimming. HINT: To individually stamp a letter, position a blank space on either side of desired letter. If there are any imperfections around the words or letters, just use your finger to smooth them out.

Using your finger, apply a tiny bit of Pearl Ex powder to highlight the area around the word MERCI; add a Black crystal before and after the word.

Using the stamp pad, press gently to apply Black ink directly on top of the word AMOUR.

Using the knife, cut the words out in a rectangle shape.

Using Pearl Ex powder, highlight the word PARIS. Using the mini circle cutter, cut out each letter individually.

Condition Black clay and roll in a 1/16" thick flat sheet, add texture with Texture Maker by firmly pushing texture sheet into clay. Cut out long triangle shapes using the knife. Use the circle cutter to cut out circles at the top of each triangle.

Using Candy Pink clay, roll in a 1/16" thick flat sheet. Using the Eiffel Tower stamp, firmly press into the sheet of clay. Do this twice. Highlight stamped area with Pearl Ex powder. Using the craft knife, trim around the image close to the outer stamped edges. Do this for both Eiffel Tower stamps.

Bake all embellishments as directed and allow to cool.

Assemble the Card

Trim papers as shown; assemble with roll-on paper adhesive, Attach clay Eiffel Tower and MERCI sentiments using craft glue.

Assemble the Frame

Use craft glue to cover the frame with one of the scrapbook papers. Attach scrapbooking flowers, Eiffel Tower and AMOUR sentiments with craft glue.

Assemble the Gift Bag

Place each cut out circle letter into Black triangles making pennant flags. Attach each pennant individually to Hot Pink paper and trim to create a mount. Attach scrapbook paper to front of gift bag using roll-on paper adhesive. Attach PARIS pennants to paper with scrapbook adhesive. Attach Hot Pink crystals between triangles.

Be sure to trim clay on index card so as not to cut your clay mat or paper working surface.

Craft Notes

Highlighting and inking of words helps each letter stand out.
