Step 1 In a plastic bowl, mix equal parts sweetened condensed milk and skim milk. Stir together. Mixture will be creamy. Leftover mixture can be lidded and stored in the refrigerator for future use.
Step 2 Place sponge on a paper plate and spoon some of the milk mixture onto the sponge and allow it to soak in. This becomes your “ink pad”.
Step 3 Ink the stamp using the “milk sponge”. Then stamp your image onto the Claybord™ panel. By using a clear acrylic block you can see exactly where you are positioning your designs. Switch stamps and continue stamping your designs all over the panel. Clean stamps after use with soap and water. If you are unhappy with a design or the placement of a design wipe off with a damp paper towel right away.
Step 4 Place the Claybord™ panel on a heat protected surface and heat stamped images with the heat tool until they turn a caramel color. This will take a few minutes for each design to turn caramel depending on the size of your image. Be sure to move heat tool around once color starts to change to prevent the clay surface from bubbling.
Step 5 Lay newspaper on work surface and put on rubber gloves. Spray “caramelized” panel with Smooch Spritz® Pearlized Accent Sprays, using Spun Sugar first, then Gingersnap and then adding Log Cabin randomly. Using these inks, make sure to cover the entire panel surface. Let sprays set slightly. Once ink has set slightly, wipe off excess with a paper towel. As you wipe off the excess ink the caramel will come off and your resist images will be revealed. If you let the ink dry you will need to moisten the paper towels to remove the caramel coloring. This will remove some of the ink but only slightly.
Step 6 Spray finished piece with matte, satin, or gloss sealer.
Step 7 Spray wooden butterflies with Smooch Spritz(R).
Step 8 Attach butterflies to panel with spray adhesive and embellish with adhesive rhinestones.
