Project Instructions

Paint a base coat on the entire wood box. Let dry.

Using masking tape, mask off area where glue mixture will be applied.

Tape waxed paper to work surface to use for mixing. Place a puddle of glue for each color of acrylic paint you will be using. Make one puddle of glue larger for the look of enamel background color.

Immediately squeeze drops of acrylic paints into the puddles of glue. Mix with toothpick. Add more drops to achieve desired color. Note: if you are using white as a background for your look of enamel, keep in mind that you do need to add white paint to the Aleene's® Tacky Glue to color it.

Using a wooden skewer or craft stick, scoop up background color mixture and spread onto surface. Don't worry about the uneven texture, it will flatten out.

Using a separate toothpick for each color, immediately drop small drops of other colors into the wet background mixture.

To create the designs, place point of the pin in the center of colored drop and pull outward. Wipe off pin each time and repeat pulling several times through each color.

If desired, add more dots of colors on colors and repeat pulling pin through colors.

Let project sit for about two hours and then carefully remove masking tape, creating a crisp edge. Let glue dry completely. If needed, touch up base coat paint color with a brush.

For glossy finish, spray over entire surface with Aleene's® Spray Gloss Sealer. .
