Cast on 72 (88) sts. Join in rnd placing marker on first st.

1st rnd: *K2. P2. Rep from * around.

Rep last rnd (K2. P2) ribbing 4 times more.

Next rnd: *K6 (4). M1. Rep from * to last 0 (8) sts. K0 (8). 84 (108) sts.  

Proceed in pat as follows:

1st rnd: *K2. K2tog. K2. yo. C6F. Rep from * around.

2nd and alt rnds: Knit.

3rd rnd: *K1. K2tog. K2. yo. K7. Rep from * around.

5th rnd: *K2tog. K2. yo. K8. Rep from * around.

7th rnd: *C6B. yo. K2. K2tog. K2. Rep from * around.

9th rnd: *K7. yo. K2. K2tog. K1. Rep from * around.

11th rnd: *K8. yo. K2. K2tog. Rep from * around.

12th rnd:  Knit.

Rep last 12 rnds for pat until work from beg measures approx 11 (12)” [28 (30.5) cm], ending with a 2nd or 8th rnd of pat.  

Next rnd: *K5 (3). K2tog. Rep from * to last
0 (8) sts. K0 (8). 72 (88) sts.

Work 5 rnds in (K2. P2) ribbing.

Cast off in ribbing.
