Project Instructions

Preheat oven to 275°F. Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. Condition all clay by kneading until it's soft and smooth or running it through clay pasta machine for several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.

Roll a thin White sheet 1/8" thick or less. Cut one wavy circle from the sheet. Make eight Yellow teardrop shapes and a small Yellow ball.

Place the Yellow petals on top of the White background with all tips meeting in the center. Push the tips down slightly with the ball ended tool. Put the Yellow ball in the middle of the tips and push down with the ball tool. Make eight Lime teardrop shapes smaller than the Yellow teardrops. Also make a small Lime ball.

Position the Lime petals on top of the Yellow petals. Push the center tips down with the ball tool to secure. Place the Lime ball in the middle over the tips and push down to secure. Make eight tiny White balls.

Place the White balls in a circle edging the Lime center. Push just the inner edge of the White balls down with the ball tool. Make a Yellow ball to fill the center area.

Put the Yellow ball in the middle and secure by just lightly pushing down on it with the ball tool.

Add tiny Yellow dots to the tips of the Lime petals.

Add a Pink dot to the tip of each Yellow petal.

Place a smaller White dot in the center of each Pink dot.

Place an even smaller Yellow do in the center of each White dot.

Add a glass crystal to the center of the flower and make sure a tiny amount of clay frames it to hold the jewel in place.

Poke two tiny holes with a toothpick between the petals to put the jump rings in.

Bake according to manufacturer's instructions.

Cut link jewelry chain to desired size.

Once hardened, add jump rings to back of clay flower where holes were placed.  Add links of chain to jump rings and close using clasp.

Tips

When using a pasta machine always make sure you insert the folded edge of the clay into the machine first.
