Crisped Rice Candy Cups with Double-Heart Lollipop

There are a lot of dessert surprises happening: a crisped rice cereal treat in a candy-coated shell. Animated heart candies and a double heart lollipop top off the fun. The double heart lollipop is great to give alone as a treat. Just put in Wilton® treat bags and tie with your choice of ribbon.

Project Instructions

To make candy shell in baking cup: Melt white Candy Melts® candy according to package directions. Reserve a small amount of white. Tint remaining melted white candy pink, using pink candy color from set. Place baking cup in muffin pan. Fill baking cup about ¼ full with melted pink candy. Use brush from set to brush candy up side of baking cup, forming an edge. Repeat process if thicker shell is needed. Chill until firm. Carefully peel off baking cup.

Make crisped rice cereal treat following the recipe. Press treat into candy shell, leaving about ¼" free from top edge. Cover treat with a thin layer of melted pink candy. Chill until firm.

To make candy hearts: Melt red and Light Cocoa Candy Melts® candy, separately. Fill hearts candy mold, using cut parchment bags and melted pink, red and light cocoa candy. Gently tap on a solid, flat surface to remove bubbles. Chill until firm. Unmold.

To add facial features to hearts: Use melted white candy and a cut parchment bag to pipe eyes. Chill until firm. Tint a small amount of melted white candy black using black candy color from set. Use melted black candy and a cut parchment bag to pipe pupils on all hearts and mouths on red and pink hearts. Use melted pink candy and a cut parchment bag to pipe mouths on light cocoa hearts.

To make double heart candy lollipop: Use melted pink candy and a cut parchment bag to pipe in pink accents on hearts. Chill until firm.

Fill hearts with melted Light Cocoa Candy Melts® candy. Add lollipop stick. Gently tap mold on a solid, flat surface to remove air bubbles. Chill until firm. Unmold.

Assemble treat. Insert double heart lollipop in center of candy shell. Use melted pink candy to attach individual hearts around heart lollipop on candy shell.

Tips

Adult supervision is required at all times. Oven should only be used by an adult.
