Material List

  • 1 Cuckoo-style birdhouse with moose
  • 1 clock movement – 5/8” Depth
  • 3 mini pinecones
  • 1- 1½ ft. of jewelry chain link
  • Recollections Silver and champagne glitter
  • Sage Green Acrylic Paint
  • Brown paint
  • Paintbrush – ½” flat
  • Paint brush – ½” angled
  • Craft glue
  • Jig saw – for cutting opening in back
  • Drill for clock movement hole
  • Wire cutters
  • Decoupage glue
  • Hot Glue Gun
 

Project Instructions

- Cut an opening in the back of the birdhouselarge enough to fit clock movement through. (I had my husband do this for me).

- Find the center of the front of the birdhousewhere your clock hole will go. I eyeballed this. Drill a hole in the front ofthe birdhouse.

- Insert clock movement and follow instructions toassemble.

- I trimmed off some of the clock hands to fit thefront.

- Coat trees lightly with sage green. Let dry.

- Create a wash with water and brown paint. Applyto roof. Let dry.

- Create a wash with water and brown paint. Applyuneven horizontal stripes to moose to simulate wood grain. Let dry.

- Create ornament detailing on trees by applyingdots of craft glue sporadically to the trees. Sprinkle with glitter and tap offexcess.

- Create shingles with craft glue. Draw scallopswith craft glue. Sprinkle with glitter and tap off excess. We did the roof in 2sections so our glue didn’t dry before our glitter was applied. Repeat untilyou have achieved the desired amount of shingles and let dry.

- Create number hash marks by carefully applyingcraft glue where numbers should go. I eyeballed the spacing. Sprinkle glitterover glue and let dry. Tap off excess.

- Cut chain to the desired length. Adhere tobottom of birdhouse with hot glue. Let dry.

- Attach pinecones to the chain link with hotglue. Let dry.

- Coat pinecones with a even coat of decoupageglue. Sprinkle glitter over them generously. Tap off excess and let dry.
