  • Lily® Sugar'n Cream® Scrubby (1.75 oz/50g; 68 yds./62m) – Yellow (Contrast A)
  • Lily® Sugar'n Cream® (Solids: 2.5 oz/70g; 120 yds./109m) – White (Contrast B) and Hot Green (Contrast C)
  • Crochet Hook – Size U.S. H or 8 (5mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
 

Project Instructions

Center: With A, ch 2.

Notes:

• Join all rnds with sl st to first sc.

• WS of work is facing throughout.

• Push tr to RS of work to form ‘bobble’. Work sc beside tr tightly to form ‘bobble’.

 

1st rnd: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join.

2nd rnd: Ch 1. (1 sc. 1 tr) in same sp as sl st. *(1 sc. 1 tr) in next sc. Rep from * around. Join. 12 sts.

3rd rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as sl st. 2 sc in next st. *1 sc in next st. 2 sc in next st. Rep from * around. Join. 18 sc.

4th rnd: Ch 1. (1 sc. 1 tr) in same sp as sl st. *1 sc in next sc. 1 tr in next sc. (1 sc. 1 tr) in next sc. Rep from * to last 2 sc. 1 sc in next sc. 1 tr in last sc. Join. 24 sts.

5th rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as sl st. 2 sc in next st. *1 sc in next 3 sts. 2 sc in next st. Rep from * to last 2 sts. 1 sc in last 2 sts. Join. 30 sc.

6th rnd: Ch 1. (1 sc. 1 tr) in same sp as sl st. *(1 sc in next sc. 1 tr in next sc) twice. (1 sc. 1 tr) in next sc. Rep from * to last 4 sc. (1 sc in next sc. 1 tr in next sc) twice. Join. Break A. 36 sts.

 

Petals: 1st rnd: With RS of Center facing, join B with sl st in any st. Ch 1. 2 sc in same sp as sl st. *1 sc in next 4 sts. 2 sc in next st. Rep from * around. Join. 44 sc.

1st Petal: 1st row: Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as sl st. 1 sc in next sc. Working in front loops only, 1 sc in next 6 sts. Turn.

2nd to 4th rows: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.

5th row: Ch 1. Draw up a loop in each of next 2 sc. Yoh and draw through all 3 loops on hook – sc2tog made. 1 sc in next 4 sc. Sc2tog. Turn.

6th row: Ch 1. Sc2tog. 1 sc in next 2 sc. Sc2tog. Turn.

7th row: Ch 1. (Sc2tog) twice. Fasten off.

 

2nd to 6th Petals: Working behind previous Petal (to create overlap), join B with sl st in rem back loop of 7th st of previous petal. Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as sl st. 1 sc in rem back loop of 8th st of previous Petal. 1 sc in front loops only of next 6 sc. Turn.

Work 2nd to 7th rows as given for 1st Petal.

7th Petal: Working behind 6th Petal, join B with sl st in rem back loop of 7th st of 6th Petal. Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as sl st. 1 sc in rem back loop of 8th st of 6th Petal. 1 sc in front loops only of rem 6 sc. Turn.

Work 2nd to 7th rows as given for 1st Petal. Do not fasten off.

 

Petal edging: Ch 1. Work 6 sc down side of 7th Petal to 1st row. Sl st at base of 1st Petal. Ch 2. Work 15 sc around outer edge of 1st Petal. *Sl st at base of next Petal. Ch 2. Work 15 sc around next Petal. Rep from * 4 times more. Sl st at base of 7th Petal. Ch 2. Work 9 sc around 7th Petal to first sc. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

 

Leaves: Join C with sl st in 11th sc of 2nd Petal edging. Working behind Petals, work 3 tr in sp between Petals. Join with sl st in 4th sc of 3rd Petal edging. Turn. Ch 4. 1 tr in same sp as last sl st. Join with sl st in same sp as first sl st. Fasten off. Make 6 more Leaves in same manner between rem Petals.
