Using the disc cutter and brass mallet to cut the circles, prepare the following:
A. Five pieces of 1" diameter circle from 24 ga. metal in copper. Punch out two opposite holes, about 2mm distance from the outer edge of the circle.
B. Two pieces of ½" diameter circle from metal in gold tone.
C. One piece of 7/8" diameter circle from designer metal sheet in gold tone.
Dap the 1" diameter circles to form a concave shape. To dap a concave circle, take the wooden dapping block and dapping stick. Place one metal circle in the largest slot on the dapping block. Hammer down the metal circle using the dapping stick and brass mallet. When the metal circle conforms to the concave form of the block slot, repeat on the next largest slot.
Note: to easily form the metal, heating to anneal the metal circle using a torch will be most effective. This will need to be done in a well-ventilated place. Forming the metal without heating it first is possible, with more force.
To make the first of five components, take one concave circle and punch out one hole in the center. File out the hole to make it bigger until it fits the large rivet. Take one pre-cut brass tone wheel. Align the center holes and hammer down one large rivet on mark using the ball peen hammer on a steel block.
To make components 2, 3 and 5, repeat the steps above using one of each of the indicated parts below:
A. Component 2: concave circle, pre-cut silver tone wheel, ½" diameter circle and silver tone rivet.
B. Component 3: concave circle, 7/8" diameter circle from designer sheet and gold tone rivet.
C. Component 4: concave circle, pre-cut gold tone wheel, ½" diameter circle and gold tone rivet.
D. Component 5: concave circle, pre-cut silver tone wheel and two gold tone rivets.
Take components 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Connect one component to the next using a jump ring, until all 5 components are connected in a line.
Connect one part of the toggle closure on one end, then connect the bar part of the closure on the opposite end.
