Double Mum White and Silver for Seniors
Material List
- To make 18 double points
White 1 ½ inch ribbon - 2 yards cut into 4 inch pieces
1inch silver ribbon - 2 yards cut into 4 inch pieces - 3 oval backing circles for double mums
- 2 mum flowers
- Large white and silver boa
- For basic double backing streamers
16 yards of 1 ½ inch white ribbon cut into 2 yard pieces
16 yards of 1 to 1 ½ inch silver ribbon cut into 2 yard pieces - To make a “Homecoming” loop streamer
1 yard of 3 ½ yards of 1 ½ inch white ribbon cut into 1 piece 1 yard long for base and the rest in 6 inch pieces for loops - 2 pieces of 1 ½ inch white ribbon, 1 yard each to make “Grapevine” and “Mustang” streamers
- Silver glitter sticker letters to spell HOMECOMING, GRAPEVINE, MUSTANGS
- Round braid in white and silver with a puff of white and silver boa at the bottom
- Streamers and garlands - 1 yard each piece
6 - 8 assorted metallic silver ribbons - ½ inch to 1inch wide, different textures, etc
6-8 assorted white ribbons printed with silver
several clear streamers printed in either silver or white

White and silver “Good Luck” horseshoe - 6 inch piece of 1 ½ inch white ribbon

- Hot glue
Project Instructions
Step: 1
Make about 18 double points - layer white 1 ½ inch ribbon with pieces with 1inch silver ribbon pieces down center of each. Staple each point twice to secure and staple to cardboard backing circle, spacing evenly around circle.
Step: 2
Prepare flowers and attach to the backing piece with the points.
Step: 3
Make another backing piece with basic double backing streamers in white and silver - Take 1 piece of each color of the 2 yard ribbons, lay one on top of the other and fold in ½ so that the right side of the ribbon still shows on both sides (the top will make a point). Then staple the point onto another cardboard backing circle in 2 rows of 4 double streamers - overlapping slightly.
Step: 4
Hot glue a large white and silver boa around outside flower piece behind points.
Step: 5
Make a “Homecoming” loop streamer - take the 6 inch pieces of 1 ½ inch wide white ribbon, fold in ½ and staple to form loop. Staple loops on 1 yard piece of 1 ½ inch white ribbon starting at bottom and slightly overlapping to cover staples. Put 1 silver glitter sticker letter on each loop to spell HOMECOMING. Staple on mum in center front of streamers.
Step: 6
Make a white 1 ½ inch streamer that says “Grapevine” and one that says “Mustangs” in silver glitter sticker letters and add them down each side of the mum.
Step: 7
Add a round braid in white and silver with a puff of white and silver boa at the bottom.
Step: 8
Add the following with staples or hot glue
6 - 8 assorted metallic silver ribbons - ½ inch to 1inch wide, different textures, etc
A few clear streamers printed in either silver or white
Interlocking silver chain garland
Silver curling ribbon
Step: 9
Hot glue or tie the following embellishments as shown
Silver 3D teddy bear
3D heart
Silver whistle
Silver cowbells, asst sizes
White and silver “Good Luck” horseshoe
Step: 10
Make a white hanger loop with a 6 inch piece of 1 ½ inch white ribbon. Staple it well to the top of the backing circle with the streamers.
Step: 11
Hot glue the backing with the streamers to the backing with the flower/points. Hot glue the 3rd backing circle to the back of that to finish.
