Project Instructions

Select 6 coordinating scrapbook pages to be used for your card: 1 for the base, 1 for the pocket & base of your butterfly, 3 to accent the front (2 of these will also be used to accent the pocket & butterfly) and 1 to use as the main butterfly.

Take the first print (card base) and cut an 11 ½" x 7" piece. Make score marks at 3 7/8" and 7 ¾". This will make your paper into a tri-fold card, with the first section in the front and the second section folding in, face-to-face with the 3rd.

Take your vellum quote and adhere it to the middle section of the card.

From the next 3 pieces of cardstock, cut out squares in the following dimensions: 3 1/8 " x 4 ¾", 3" x 4 ½" and 4" x 3 ¼". Adhere these on the front panel of the card, slightly staggered as shown.

With the craft punch, cut out 3 butterflies and adhere them to the front of the card. Make sure that you only apply adhesive to the body of the butterfly (this will give them more dimension).

To make the pocket, cut a 6 1/8"x7" piece of cardstock from one of the prints used on the butterfly. Cut another piece (1"x7") for the pocket lining. Score the first piece 2 ¼", making it with a fold at 2 ¼" x 3 7/8". Adhere the lining of the pocket to the inside of the 2 ¼" side, with the print facing outward. Insert the brads, 2 on each side (top and bottom), to create the pocket. Embellish the pocket with a motivational rub-on.

Fold the card shut and embellish it with your alphabet letters. Once your gift is inserted in the pocket, tie a bow and give it to your prized graduate!

Use a second piece of paper to create a pocket, just the perfect size for your gift!
