Project Instructions
Step: 1
Cut out all pattern pieces for strapless, shirred midriff, and gathered skirt.
Step: 2
Place pieces on fabric according to pattern instructions and cut out.
Step: 3
Cover the front of each fabric piece in black tape except midriff; cover that in aqua tape. Trim excess tape.
Step: 4
Tape together the bodice pieces using 1-inch X 2-inch pieces of black tape. Tape both the inside and the outside.
Step: 5
Tape the skirt pieces together using long pieces of black.
Step: 6
Cover the midriff piece in aqua tape.
Step: 7
Use the circle stencil to cut out purple circles and place them in rows on the skirt.
Step: 8
Gather the skirt at the top and secure in place with black tape.
Step: 9
Tape the skirt on the insides of the midriff then add a long strip of aqua on the outside where the black and the purple polka dots meet; crinkle it a little bit as you go. Repeat this step only on the top bodice piece.
Step: 10
Crinkle the midriff piece so it’s only about half the length and tape it on the inside of the dress to secure the crinkles in place.
Step: 11
Tape of the back of the dress up to the midriff piece.
Step: 12
Use the grommet punch to punch a few grommets down either side of the dress.
