Cut 12-inches of floral wire. Cut foam ball in half (set one half aside for use in another project). Use the wire like a needle and thread to "sew" the foam ball (flat side touching the barrette) to the barrette.
Tear off about 10-inches of red tape and cut it in half lengthwise, then into squares. Cover the foam ball half with these.
Tear a strip of black tape about 6-inches long and cut a long thin strip (about 1/8-inch wide). Stick the strip down the middle of the lady bug back. Cut the remaining 6-inch black tape strip into small squares to cover the head.
Lay out a strip of black tape and cut out six small hearts. Stick three on each side of the black line on the lady bug's back.
Cut two 1½-inch pieces of wire, wrap them in black tape leaving about one half of the wire showing. Stick these above the head and bend them a little at the tops for antennae.
Using a dime as the stencil cut out two white circles for the eyes and place them on the face. Trace the dime onto some black tape and trim them a bit smaller than the white circles. Place the black circles on top of the white ones. Cut two tiny squares of white tape to make the highlights on the bug's eyes.
