Project Instructions

  1. Insert cardboard into tote.

  2. Print and cut out the pattern. Use chalk to draw four equally spaced vertical lines across the tote. Flip over the "EEK" pattern, hold it against a window to better see the pattern lines and use sharpened chalk to trace over the pattern lines. Position the "EEK" pattern, chalk-side down where shown on the tote then press to hold in place. Run a finger over the lines to transfer the chalk to the fabric. Remove the pattern. Add chalk dots along the vertical lines where a spider is desired.
  3. To create spiders, squeeze a ½-inch oval puddle of paint over each chalk dot. Press your middle finger into the paint and spread the paint around, creating a larger oval. Remove your finger and wipe clean. Repeat this step for all spiders using purple, orange, lime and yellow paint. Add four short lines for legs on either side of the body.
  4. Fill in the letters with orange and the exclamation point with lime and yellow as shown.

  5. Add wiggly lines of orange over the vertical chalk lines between spiders.

  6. To create eyes, add natural glow dots toward the top of each body then add a smaller dot of gray in the center. Let dry.

Wipe the tip of the paint bottle often while painting so paint won't drag.
