Base coat entire box lid (inside and out) Vintage White; allow to dry.

Step: 4

Cut 2 strips of red paper to fit the sides of the box, adhere to box with Mod Podge (each strip will cover two sides); use craft knife to remove excess paper. Allow to dry.

Step: 5

Following diamond pattern on paper as cutting line for the bottom, cut two strips of Holly Argyle paper to fit outside box (refer to photo); decoupage in place (each strip will cover two sides); use craft knife to trim excess paper. Set aside to dry.

Step: 6

Step: 7

Cut out four larger diamond shapes using Holly Argyle paper (each large diamond shape should consist of four smaller diamonds within paper pattern); arrange on box lid by overlapping in the center; decoupage in place, making sure there is Mod Podge between each overlapping piece.

Step: 8

Cut out a 2 ½” diameter circle with red paper and a 2” diameter circle with patterned paper; decoupage to center of box lid, patterned paper on top of red; allow to dry.

Step: 13

Coat knob with Mod Podge; allow to dry.

Step: 14

Cut two feet of ribbon and decoupage along outside edge of box lid (apply Mod Podge to one side of ribbon then quickly adhere to lid while smoothing down with fingers); cut excess ribbon; allow to dry.

Step: 15

Use hot glue to adhere knob to center of lid.

Tips

For even more character, add feet to the box bottom by using ¾” doll head knobs painted red with white polka dots.
