With MC, cast on 96 sts loosely.

Base Triangles: 1st row: (RS). K1. Turn.

2nd and alt rows: Purl all sts from previous row.

3rd row: Sl1. K1. Turn.

5th row: Sl1. K2. Turn.

7th row: Sl1. K3. Turn.

9th row: Sl1. K4. Turn.

11th row: Sl1. K5. Turn.

13th row: Sl1. K6. Turn.

15th row: Sl1. K7. Do not turn.

Rep 1st to 15th rows 11 times more. Turn at end of last rep.

FIRST TIER: **Left Side Triangle: 1st row: (WS). With A, K1. Turn.

2nd row: Knit into front and back of st. Turn.

3rd row: K1. P2tog. Turn.

4th row: K1. M1. K1.

5th row: K1. P1. P2tog. Turn.

6th and alt rows: Knit to last st. M1. K1.

7th row: K1. P2. P2tog. Turn.

9th row: K1. P3. P2tog. Turn.

11th row: K1. P4. P2tog. Turn.

13th row: K1. P5. P2tog. Turn.

15th row: K1. P6. P2tog. Do not turn.

Right Slanting Diamond: 1st row: (WS). With A, working from right to left, pick up and purl 8 sts along edge of Triangle/Rectangle below. Slip last st back onto left-hand needle and P2tog with next st. Turn.

2nd row: K8. Turn.

3rd row: Sl1. P6. P2tog. Turn.

Rep last 2 rows 6 times more. Do not turn at end of last rep. Work 10 more Diamonds in same manner.

Right Side Triangle: 1st row: (WS). With A, working from right to left, pick up and purl 8 sts along edge of side triangle/rectangle below. Turn.

2nd row: Knit all sts from previous row.

3rd row: Sl1. Purl to last 2 sts. P2tog. Turn.

4th to 11th rows: Rep 2nd and 3rd rows 4 times more.

12th row: K3.

13th row: Sl1. P2tog. Turn.

15th row: P2tog. Rem st will count as first st picked up for First Left Slanting Diamond in next Tier.**

SECOND TIER: ***First Left Slanting Diamond: 1st row: (RS). Slip rem st from previous Triangle. With MC, pick up and knit 7 sts along edge of Triangle below. Slip last st back onto left-hand needle. ssk. Turn.

2nd row: P8. Turn.

3rd row: Sl1. K6. ssk. Turn.

Rep last 2 rows 6 times more. Do not turn at end of last rep.

Next Left Slanting Diamond: 1st row: (RS). With MC, pick up and knit 8 sts along edge of Triangle below. Slip last st back onto left-hand needle. ssk. Turn.

2nd row: P8. Turn.

3rd row: Sl1. K6. ssk. Turn.

Rep last 2 rows 6 times more. Do not turn at end of last rep.

Work 11 more Diamonds in same manner.***

Final Triangles: 1st row: (RS). Slip rem st from previous Triangle. With MC, pick up and knit 7 sts along edge of Triangle below. Slip last st back onto left-hand needle. ssk. Turn.

2nd row: Purl all sts from previous row. Turn.

3rd row: K2tog. K5. ssk. Turn.

5th row: K2tog. K4. ssk. Turn.

7th row: K2tog. K3. ssk. Turn.

9th row: K2tog. K2. ssk. Turn.

11th row: K2tog. K1. ssk. Turn.

Rep 1st to 15th rows 11 times more. Fasten off rem st.

Top and Bottom Edging: With RS facing and MC, pick up and knit 128 sts evenly across top edge. Work 6 rows garter st (knit every row). Cast off knitwise (WS).

Rep across bottom edge.

Side Edging: With RS facing and MC, pick up and knit 178 sts evenly along side edge. Work 6 rows garter st (knit every row). Cast off knitwise (WS).

Rep along opposite side edge.
