It's easy to transform this wooden birdhouse into a European-inspired windmill with craft paint & wooden craft sticks. Originally, windmills were used to grind grain into flour.

Material List

  • Apple Barrel® Acrylic Paint – White, Bright Red, Black and Caribbean
  • Unfinished Wood Birdhouse
  • Wood Sticks, Mini
  • Woodsies® Rectangle Pack, 130-count
  • Paintbrushes
  • Low Heat Glue Gun (Adults Only)

Project Instructions

Step 1 Base coat the birdhouse with Bright Red. Base coat the roof with Caribbean acrylic. Paint the birdhouse perches with black.

Step 2 Using the end of a brush handle and white acrylic paint, add dots to the birdhouse.

Step 3 Paint four craft sticks with white. Paint twelve medium rectangles and one circle with black.

Step 4 Glue the four craft sticks to the back of the circle.

Step 5 On the front of the craft sticks, glue the rectangles, as shown. Glue the windmill to the center of the birdhouse roof.
