Prewash t-shirt to remove sizing. Do not use fabric softener or dryer sheet. Dry in dryer.
Place freezer paper inside shirt, shiny/waxy side up. Iron shirt from the front to temporarily adhere the freezer paper to the shirt. This will keep the shirt from moving while drawing with markers and keep paint from seeping through to the back of shirt.
Use colored chalk to freehand draw a large “open eye” on top center of shirt. Using photo as a guide, draw swirls on the shoulders and the word “CREATE” 3-inches above the bottom hem of shirt. Draw the Number “2” above “CREATE” on the left side of shirt as shown.
Trace the outline of the Eye with the Blackout Fabric Marker and fill in the iris with the No Parking Fabric Marker. Refer to photo.
Trace and thicken the swirls with the Blackout Fabric Marker. Use the Long Island, SoHo and Skyline Fabric Markers to color in the word “CREATE,” blending colors as shown. Add swirls and outlines as desired.
Color in the number “2” with Long Island and outline with Blackout.
Place the Bleeding Heart stencil on the left shoulder. Tape paper towels around the edges to prevent overspray. Spray the stencil with Black Out Cannon Fabric Paint, following the instructions on the Fabric Paint Cannon packaging. Lift the stencil straight up and clean with paper towels for later use.
Place the LOVE stencil underneath the Eye as shown. Tape the edges to shirt with masking tape. Color in sections of stencil with the SoHo Fabric Marker then color over remaining portions with the Rush Hour Fabric Marker, slightly blending colors as shown. Lift off stencil and clean with paper towels for next use.
Place the Wing stencil under the word “CREATE”. Tape paper towels around the edges to prevent overspray. Spray the stencil with Blackout Cannon Fabric Paint. Lift the stencil straight up and clean with paper towels. Turn the stencil over next to first wing in a mirror image and repeat step to create a complete set of wings. Return Blackout to bottle and clean Paint Cannon.
Use the Hubcap, Merge and Taxi Cab Paint Taggers to add accents around the stencils and words.
Spray accents around shirt with Rush Hour Cannon Fabric Paint.
Let shirt dry flat overnight. Wash in warm water on gentle cycle with mild soap after 24 hours; line dry. Do not dry clean.
Use photo as a guide and follow manufacturer’s instructions for all products used.
Start spray of Paint Cannon on a paper towel to get a feel for sprayer. Clean Paint Cannon thoroughly between each color application.
