Project Instructions

Wash and dry apron without fabric softener. Iron flat.

Draw a lip pattern onto freezer paper. Cut lips out of freezer paper to create the lips stencil. You will end up with three pieces: the framed lips, the cutout lips and the lip center. Set aside the cutout lips for later use.

Lightly iron the framed lips and lip center stencils to front of apron. Refer to photo.

Pour puddles of Crimson Red, Azalea and Petal Pink onto palette.

Using paintbrush, brush Crimson Red paint around the edges of the lips, brushing toward the center of the lips. Working wet on wet, use paintbrush to brush Azalea around the edges of the Crimson Red, blending as you work around the lips. Brush Petal Pink in the center of the lips, blending and shading thepaint to create depth. Let dry.

Peel away stencils and discard.

Place the cutout lips stencil on the lips that have dried to create a mask for the next step.

Pour a puddle of Petal Pink on new palette. Dip Tulip® Sponge Pouncer in Petal Pink and pounce polka dots over entire apron. (The cutout lips mask will allow you to pounce dots right up to the edge of the lips without accidentally painting on the lips.) Let dry completely. Remove mask.

Pour a puddle of Ebony on palette. Use flat paintbrush to freehand paint the words "Kiss the Cook" onto apron. Let dry 4 hours.

Wait 72 hours before washing. Wash in warm water, gentle cycle with mild soap. Line dry. Clean up with soap and water. Do not dry clean.

Test painted sponge pouncer on paper towel before painting on apron to ensure paint is at desired coverage.
