Project Instructions

Step: 1

You will first want to prepare the fabric before beginning your projects. To do this, wash and dry the fabric (do not use fabric softener). Iron and then lay out on a covered work surface. Wax paper is preferable for covering your table. Using a brush, paint a light coat of Fabric Mod Podge onto your fabric. Allow to dry. This will allow you to cut the fabric like paper without frayed edges.

Step: 2

Clip Board

Step: 3

Remove the hardware from the clip board - set aside.

Step: 4

Lay the clip board down onto the back of the fabric and trace the shape using the pencil. Cut out just inside the line and set aside.

Step: 5

Paint the clip board Vintage White. Paint at least three coats and allow to dry.

Step: 6

While the clip board is drying, spray paint the clip black. Spray paint all sides and allow to dry.

Step: 7

Time to Mod Podge! Decoupage the fabric piece to the clipboard. Allow to dry for 15 - 20 minutes and give a second coat. Allow to dry.

Step: 8

Trim the red ribbon and the black polka dot ribbon to fit across the front of the clipboard. Use the craft glue to glue down the red ribbon first. Allow to dry for several minutes and then glue down the polka dot ribbon on top.

Step: 9

Reattach the clip to the clip board.

Step: 10

Cut a piece of 1/4" red ribbon to go across the front of the clip. Glue down with craft glue. Glue a medium black button at each end.

Step: 11

Glue a letter down to personalize with craft glue.

Step: 12

Take your ribbon scraps and thread through the clip hole - tie into knots.

Step: 13

Allow your project to dry at least 24 hours before using.

Step: 14

Picture Frame

Step: 15

Remove the hardware from the frame - set aside.

Step: 16

Lay the frame down onto the back of the fabric and trace the shape using the pencil. Also trace the picture window. Cut out just inside the line and set aside.

Step: 17

Paint the frame Cardinal Red. Paint at least three coats and allow to dry. Don’t forget to do the stand.

Step: 18

While the frame is drying, take a fabric scrap from your clip board project. I cut one of the flowers out.

Step: 19

Lay the flower down onto the piece of black scrapbook paper and trace about 1/4" outside the edge to give a little border. Cut out the flower shape and glue the flower down to the paper with the craft glue. Set aside.

Step: 20

Time to Mod Podge! Decoupage the fabric piece to the frame. Allow to dry for 15 - 20 minutes and give a second coat. Mod Podge the front and back of the frame, including the stand. Allow to dry.

Step: 21

Cut the black polka dot ribbon to fit across the front of the frame. Glue down with craft glue. Allow to dry for several minutes and then glue the flower down in the middle of the ribbon on the left side.

Step: 22

Glue an accent onto the flower with the large black button.

Step: 23

Glue a letter down to personalize with craft glue.

Step: 24

Replace all of the hardware on your frame.

Step: 25

Allow your project to dry at least 24 hours before using.
