Project Instructions

Step: 1

Black Shirt
Use scissors to cut off about 2-inches along bottom hem then cut into zigzag shapes across entire hem. Cut zigzags around hems of both sleeves.

Step: 2

Cut up center front of shirt and cut off neck banding.

Step: 3

Cut off two ½-inch strips the length of each felt sheet. Glue ends together with Aleene’s® Fabric Fusion™ to create one long strip. Let dry.

Step: 4

To create tubes for sleeves, start by applying a thin bead of Fabric Fusion™ on short side of purple felt. Press other end into glue and let dry. Repeat with other sheet of felt. Let dry then cut a zigzag edge on one end of booth purple tubes.

Step: 5

Insert uncut end of tube into sleeve of shirt and adjust until end of tube is just beyond cut edge on sleeve. Apply Fabric Fusion™ to edge of felt tube then press sleeve into place. Let dry.

Step: 6

Start 3D Fashion Paint™ on paper towel using an even pressure on bottle for a smooth line. Paint Red zigzag “scars” onto front left arm felt then add Black “stitches” across scar. Refer to photo. Let dry.

Step: 7

Cut a small rectangle from orange felt and glue in place on right side of shirt. Add Neon Green “stitching” on felt then add Purple “X”s around felt. Let dry. Add a Neon Green line about a ¼-inch in from edge along purple and black sleeves working in short sections and letting dry before turning over to backside and repeating. Add a line of Glow around hem and let dry.

Step: 8

Cut four ½-inch slits near top front of shirt, two on each side for laces. Loosely lace purple felt strip through slits then tie a knot. Trim ends if needed.

Step: 9

Lime Shirt
Cut a zigzag hem around entire shirt. Add Purple 3D Fashion Paint™ line just inside hem edge. Let dry.

Step: 10

Measure and cut a 4½-inch strip from long side of black foam. Cut a zigzag edge on one side as shown.

Step: 11

Cut a 7-inch wide strip the length of lime foam. Place face cutout pattern at center along long edge of lime foam then trace around with pencil. Cut out.

Step: 12

Apply a thin even ½-inch bead of FunCraft Foam Glue™ along uncut edge of lime sheet and let dry following label instructions - it will appear clear when dry but will still be sticky. Press jagged edge of black foam strip in place, overlapping lime piece about 1-inch.

Step: 13

Detail with 3D Fashion Paint™. Use Orange to outline black strips just inside edges and add a Red scar where shown then Purple stitch lines. Add Glow around along lower edge of lime and around opening. Let dry.

Step: 14

Use paintbrush to add two coats of Platinum Soft Fabric Paint™ to two spools, letting dry between each coat. Add a thin layer of Foam Glue to one end of each spool. Let dry then press onto bottom of lime foam sheet about 1-inch from face opening on both sides.

Step: 15

Punch or poke two small holes on each edge of headpiece about 3-inches down from top and 3-inches up from bottom. Cut lime ribbon into four lengths. Tie a double knot in one end then thread other end through hole having the knot hold ribbon in place. Tie ribbons to back of head to hold mask in place.

Step: 16

Remove Frankenstein Iron-On Crystal™ design from packaging. Remove backing sheet from design, position on tote just slightly lower then center of bag then press in place. Cover with pressing cloth then iron in place following package instructions. Let cool then remove other plastic sheet.

Step: 17

Insert cardboard into bag.

Step: 18

Cut a small rectangle from orange felt and glue in place where shown with Fabric Fusion™. Add stitch lines with Purple 3D Fashion Paint™ just in from edge then add Red “X”s between Purple stitching.

Step: 19

Use white chalk to very lightly draw on ‘FRANKEN MONSTER” in large letters on top of bag, then freehand draw stars and a large zigzag scar.

Step: 20

Fill in lettering with Purple and Orange 3D Fashion Paint™, then fill in zigzag scar with Purple and add Red stitch lines, fill in star shapes with Neon Green then outline each with Glow. Let dry.

Step: 21

Use damp paper towel to wipe of any chalk lines that may show.
