Green Lava Pendant

This piece looks great on an Omega chain. This requires an additional 1" for each piece of square 20 ga. wire. In addition, the bale size needs to accommodate thicker chain.

Project Instructions

Step 1 Cut three 6" pieces of 20 ga. square wire.

Step 2 Cut four 6" pieces of 20 ga. fancy round wire.

Step 3 Tape three 20 ga. square wires together. Keep flat (side by side).

Step 4 Lay four fancy round wires out, and using chain nose pliers make small bends on the ends (bend all at once so they are the same shape/size).

Step 5 Find center of square 20 ga. wire bundle and place a 20 ga. fancy wire hook at that location.

Step 6 Using chain nose pliers, press all wires down to secure onto the square wire.

Step 7 Slightly separate fancy wires and one by one make one complete wrap around the square wire. This will further secure the fancy wire.

Step 8 Tape fancy wires flat.

Step 9 Cut 12" 24 ga. round wire.

Step 10 Use chain nose pliers and make ¼" hook on end of wire.

Step 11 Approximately 1/14" from fancy wires, place hook over square wire bundle and make four tight wraps. (Keep each wrap close and touching.)

Step 12 Trim excess and repeat Steps 10-11 on opposite side. Be sure to make your wire cuts on same side of the square wire. These cuts will touch the Lava stone.

Step 13 Remove tape from square bundle of wire.

Step 14 Begin to shape the wire around the Lava stone, cuts touching stone.

Step 15 Where ends meet at top, bend upward 90°.

Step 16 Make a hook on end of 24 ga. wire.

Step 17 Hold wires together where the 90 degree bends meet, and place the hook around the square wire, staying close to the round shape.

Step 18 Make three tight wraps with the 24 ga. to hold the wires together. DO NOT TRIM EXCESS 24 ga. wire.

Step 19 Split four square wires that are bent upward (two to each side), leaving two standing straight up in the center.

Step 20 Wrap two center wires around baler.

Step 21 Using round nose pliers and slightly bend ends upward. That will be the back side of your pendant.
