Project Instructions

Step 1 Cut the following materials in the lengths below and set aside.

A. One piece of elastic at 5". Attach ribbon ends on the elastic, one on each end.

B. Two pieces of chain at 4½" and 2".

Step 2 Insert one eye pin through a 6mm rondelle, one pearl spacer and another 6mm rondelle, then create another loop on eye pin to secure beads. Make two sets. This will now be called “pearl spacer link” throughout the instructions.

Step 3 Insert one eye pin through one 8mm pearl bead. Fold excess wire, leave ¼" and cut excess with side cutter. Create a loop using the ¼" wire left to secure bead. Make two sets. This will now be called “pearl bead link” throughout the instructions.

Step 4 To make the first set of filigree drops:

Insert one eye pin through one 9mm rondelle bead and one silver filigree. Fold excess wire (leaving ¼") and cut excess with side cutter. Create a loop using the ¼" wire left to secure components.

Repeat technique using materials below:

A. One eye pin, one 8mm luster round and one copper filigree. On the end loop of this filigree, connect one end of one “pearl bead link” by opening and closing loop.

B. One eye pin, one 8mm pearl bead and one brass filigree.

Step 5 Repeat Step 4 to make second set of filigree drops.

Step 6 Open one jump ring, insert first set of filigree drops so that the filigree with a "bead pearl link" is in between two filigrees without. Close jump ring. Attach one end of first "pearl spacer link" on jump ring that connects all three filigree drops of first set by opening and closing loop. Attach the opposite end of the same pearl spacer link on one end of 4½" chain by opening and closing loop.

Step 7 Repeat Step 6 using a second jump ring, second set of filigree drops, second pearl spacer link and two-inch chain.

Step 8 Open one large antiqued silver jump ring and insert the non-filigree drop ends of the 4½" and 2" chain. Close jump ring.

Step 9 Connect one ribbon end loop of elastic on left (hole) end of hair clip with one jump ring. Connect the opposite ribbon end loop of elastic on the right (hole) end of hair clip with another jump ring.

Step 10 Open hair clip and insert large antiqued silver jump ring with filigree drops from Step 8.
