Project Instructions

Step 1 Cut two yards of 24ga gold wire. Fold 24ga, wire in half.

Step 2 Take the folded wire and mark one end of the wire with a permanent marker on the wire end tip. This will now be called “right end” throughout the instructions. The unmarked wire end will be called “left end” throughout the instructions.

Step 3 Take the "right end" and insert through one swirl tear drop. Take "right end" and "left end" and twist three times to secure bead. Repeat step three more times, first repetition using the "left end," second repetition using the "right end" and third repetition using the "left end."

Step 4 Take the "right end" and insert through one bronze bead and twist three times. Take the "left end" and insert through one green teardrop and twist three times. Take the "right end" and insert through one bronze bead and twist three times. Take the "left end" and insert through one green teardrop and twist three times.

Step 5 Take the "right end" and insert through one swirl teardrop. Take "right end" and "left end" and twist three times to secure bead. Repeat step two more times, first repetition using the "left end" and second repetition using the "right end." Steps 2-5 is the “bottom base” of this clip design.

Step 6 Press hinge area to open the hair clip. Place any item in clip to hold this slightly open clip position in place. (Suggestion: use a 2-3mm thick cord piece from home appliance that is no longer being used.) Take the bottom base prepared and place on top of the hair clip so that the widest part sits just on top of the hinge area of the clip.

Step 7 Take the "left end" and insert down through the square hole of the hair clip, wrap once outside the clip and up through the bottom base. Take "right end" and "left end" and twist three times. Take "right end" and insert one 6mm blue glass twist, then wire ends together once.

Step 8 Repeat Step 7, this time using the "right end" first and the 4mm faceted bicone to replace the 6mm blue glass.

Step 9 Repeat Steps 7-8 repeatedly until you have reached the opposite end of bottom base and there is a slight dome on the center of the bottom base.
