Project Instructions

Remove lid hinges and lock from chest and paint inside chest, and inside lid edges. Let dry.

Measure around the base of your chest and lid, trim and adhere paper to outside of chest and lid. Then measure and adhere paper to inside of lid. Once adhered sand and then ink all edges as this will give you a more finished look.

Reattach lid hinges and lock to newly decorated chest.

Trim 4 orange and white crepe paper strips using the circumference measurement around the lid. Stack all 8 pieces of crepe paper alternating orange/white and stitch down center. Now we will create festooning, by cutting narrow slits on both sides of the stitching.

Adhere festooning onto outside of lid and fluff up.

On front of chest, add “Happy” and the bat chipboard at the top end of the “y”.

Trim 1” x 7” strip of the orange dot paper, sand and ink edges, notch both ends, pleat both ends to create a 3-D affect and adhere just under “Happy”.

Mount “Halloween” onto 3-d banner.

To complete chest, add “trick or treat” and “more candy” sucker to inside center of lid.

Seasonal paper crafts, if properly packed, can be reused year after year!
