Project Instructions

For the base, paint the large wood plaque lime green. Let dry. Glue Glitter tree to rectagle wood base. Set aside.

Use a darker shade of green to paint swirls on top of large wood base. Let dry and then outline swirls with glitter glue.

Dry brush around the edges with black gesso to distress.

For the character body, cut a 3" foam ball in half. Cover the half piece of foam with Mod Podge® and then sprinkle desired color of glitter over the entire body. Let dry.

Cut your dowel rods down to 5" each for the legs. Using black gesso, paint the dowel rods black and let dry. Paint thin white stripes around the rods with a small paintbrush.

Paint a wood doll head as desired to create the head of your character (vampire, witch, mummy, etc.).

Take a small amount of Creative Paperclay® and create two round-edged rectangles, each about 1½" long, to form feet. Make them thick enough to support the legs and body. Let dry 24 hours and then paint with Black Gesso. Paint skeleton feet on top of the pieces of clay with white paint.

To decorate your glitter tree, create small spheres out of Paperclay® and paint a skeleton face on them while the clay is still wet. Let dry and then paint entire head with black gesso. Once the gesso is dry, dry brush them with white paint. Hang in glitter tree as shown.

Using hot glue, insert and hot glue a 2" long dowel rod into the bottom of the doll head. Then insert and hot glue the head and neck into the top of the rounded side of the Styrofoam body. Once the glue has dried, insert and glue the legs 1" apart on the flat side of the body.

Create as many characters as you would like.

You can create fun accent pieces for your Glitter Village just by using Creative Paperclay® to make animals, scenery, pumpkins or road signs.
