Cut the two 3" balls in half. Set aside one half of a ball for a future project. Paint the three 3" half balls, a 2.5" ball and four of the 1" balls black. While the paint is still wet, sprinkle with black glitter. The paint will secure the glitter in place as it dries. Paint another 2.5" ball and the last two 1" balls purple, sprinkle with purple glitter and let dry. Paint the last 2.5" ball green, sprinkle with green glitter and let dry.
Paint four of the 9" dowels black and paint two of the dowels green. Let dry.
For the bat: Using the templates, cut out two bat wings and two ears from the black foam sheet. Cut small slits on each side of the black glittered ball using the serrated knife. Glue the wings into the slits to secure the wings to the body. Cut two small slits at the top of the ball in the same way for the ears. Glue the ears in place. Glue two wiggle eyes to the face of the bat as shown. Cut two small triangles from the white foam sheet for the bat's teeth and glue in place under the eyes. Glue two black dowels into the bottom of the bat as shown. Glue black glittered 1" balls to the ends of the dowels for feet. Glue the bat standing on top of one of the 3" glittered half balls, as shown.
For the witch: Using the templates, cut out the circle and triangle for the witch's hat from the black foam sheet. Glue the triangle into a cone shape then glue the cone to the center of the circle to create the witch's hat. Glue the hat to the top of the purple glittered ball. Glue two wiggle eyes to the witch's face. Cut a small piece of purple chenille stem and coil it into a cone shaped nose and glue in place. Glue the two green dowels into the bottom of the witch as shown. Glue the two purple 1" balls to the ends of the dowels for feet. Glue the witch standing on top of a 3" half ball as shown. Cut a 10" piece of the black polka-dot 2" wired ribbon. Pull the wire out from one side of the ribbon. Gather the ribbon to the center of the other wire. Tie the wire from the gathered ribbon side around the top of the green dowels as shown. Tie a small bow with the ½" purple ribbon and glue to the hat.
For the Frankenstein monster: cut two small circles from the black foam sheet for eye sockets and glue in place. Cut a small, thin oval and cut jagged edges around the oval to look like hair and glue in place on top of the head. Cut two small bolt shapes for the sides of the head. Cut two small slits in the sides of the head and secure the bolts in place with glue. Cut a small, stitched-looking mouth and glue in place. Glue the two wiggle eyes to the black eye sockets. Glue two black dowels into the bottom of the body, as shown. Glue two black 1" balls to the ends of the dowels. Glue the Frankenstein
monster standing on top of the last 3" half ball. Tie a small green bow around the neck as shown.
Use the fabric paints to write messages or names onto the 3" half balls as shown.
